Local government and public safety agencies in Comal and Guadalupe counties, along with the cities of New Braunfels and Seguin, will test their emergency notification systems at 10 a.m. April 2.
The goal is to make sure alerts work properly during emergencies while also improving coordination between cities, according to a news release.
What you need to know
During the test, residents may receive alerts through phone calls, text messages, emails, social media, websites and outdoor warning sirens, the release states. Residents are encouraged to sign up for local alert systems and check that their contact information is up to date to ensure they receive important emergency notifications in the future.
