The city of New Braunfels is inviting residents to shape the future of Northwest Park—a 145-acre park area located along FM 1102 south of Conrads Lane.

What residents should know

There will be an open-house-style public meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. Oct. 15 at the New Braunfels Utilities Service Center, located at 355 FM 306. Individuals who are unable to attend in person will have other opportunities to give their feedback online following the opening house, according to a news release.

City staff and the park’s design team will introduce master plan concepts and collect feedback from individuals who attend the meeting. The 145-acre property is envisioned to have a mix of recreational facilities, trails and conservation areas, according to the release.

Notable quote

Garry Ford, New Braunfels’ transportation and construction service director, said community input from the open house will play an important role in refining the master plan for the property.

“We want to ensure the final master plan reflects the priorities of New Braunfels residents while connecting this growing area of the city to our larger system of parks, trails and greenways,” Ford said in the release.
