The city of New Braunfels unveiled its 2025-2029 capital improvement plan, outlining key projects aimed at addressing infrastructure, transportation and public safety needs across the city.

The details

Capital Projects Manager Brenadette Faust presented the update to City Council on Oct. 21, explaining that the capital improvement plan includes:
  • 44 funded projects worth $333 million
  • 89 unfunded projects totaling over $500 million
The plan serves as a long-term planning document, bridging the city's budgetary and strategic efforts as it looks to tackle a growing list of infrastructure priorities, Faust said.

What's next?

The city plans to review and update the capital improvement plan annually while working to align it with the budget process, Faust said.

Additionally, the city will implement enhancements to better account for the operations and maintenance costs of new facilities, Faust said.
