New Braunfels will observe Memorial Day with a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial, in front of the New Braunfels Police Department headquarters, to pay tribute to fallen service members.

    The details

The event, jointly organized by the New Braunfels High School ROTC, New Braunfels VFW Post 7110, American Legion Post 179, and the New Braunfels Noon Lions Club, aims to honor the sacrifices of fallen service members, said Kurt Anderson, the master of ceremonies of the event.

Mayor Neil Linnartz will deliver welcoming remarks, followed by musical performances by the New Braunfels High School Band, and include a wreath laying segment, Anderson said.

Keynote speaker Omar Avila, a war veteran, will talk about the theme of Memorial Day, which is “honoring the memory of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” Anderson said.
