New Braunfels Utilities has appointed Mark Steelman as the new chief operating officer, according to an April 26 news release, and will start on June 3.

The details

Steelman is replacing Ryan Kelso, who has been the new CEO since January.

The responsibilities Steelman will take on include the nearly $1 billion capital improvement program and provide strategic direction for all utility operations, including:
  • Electric
  • Water
  • Wastewater
  • Engineering
Kelso highlighted Steelman's record of using data to drive change while prioritizing safety.

“His extensive experience with Inframark, LLC, where he led a large team that specialized in the management, operations, and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities across Texas, will allow him to manage the largest capital improvement program in NBU history,” Kelso said in the release.
