Runners can join in the Thanksgiving tradition with a variety of Turkey Trot events throughout Austin and San Antonio areas this November.
Here are 11 chances to participate in a Turkey Trot in between Austin and San Antonio. This list noncomprehensive. Events are subject to change.
Austin area
Turkey Trails-Georgetown
The Turkey Trails 5K/10K will take place at Southwestern University in Georgetown, featuring a variety of race options for all ages, including a virtual race.
The Gobble Wobble in McDade will be a multirace event featuring a kids dash, a half-mile run and a 5K.
The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot offers a timed and untimed 5-mile run, a 1-mile walk or run, and a 1-kilometer kids dash. Participants can also register for virtual versions of the 5-mile and 1-mile events.
The Hill Country Turkey Trot will be held at The Hills Country Club, with packet pickup Nov. 27 at HCI Sports & Fitness.
The Pfeathered Pfun Runs on Thanksgiving Day take place at Lake Pflugerville and feature a 5K, a 10K and a Kids K, with options for virtual participation available for the 5K and 10K events.
The Fleet Feet Round Rock Turkey Trot features an untimed 3.5-mile fun run and takes place at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, with proceeds benefiting local charities.
The Buda Turkey Trot features a 5K race at the Sunfield Lazy River Amenity Center in Buda, with proceeds benefiting Outsiders Anonymous and various prize categories for participants.
The inaugural Dripping Springs Turkey Trail Trot includes a 1K Kids Fun Run, a 5K Trail Run and a 10K Trail Run, taking place at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center, with virtual options also available for those unable to attend.
The Gobble Wobble Turkey Trot takes place at Brushy Creek Lake Park in Cedar Park, featuring 5K, 10K and half-marathon options for participants.
16th annual Gruene Turkey Trot
The Comal Cops for Kids 16th annual Gruene Turkey Trot takes place by Gruene Hall in New Braunfels and features a 5K Run and Walk and a 0.25 Mile Kid's Turkey Chase, with in-person registration available on race day.
The San Antonio Food Bank’s 15th annual Turkey Trot 5K Run & Walk will take place at the Commander’s House at H-E-B Arsenal in downtown San Antonio. Proceeds will help provide meals for families in need during the holiday season.
