New Braunfels residents will have the chance to securely dispose of personal documents at an upcoming shred day event.

On Oct. 19, from 8 a.m.-noon, the city of New Braunfels, in partnership with Gruene Shredding, will host its second shred day of the year at New Braunfels City Hall, 550 Landa St., according to an Oct. 5 news release from the city.

Residents can bring up to three bank-box-sized containers of paper for shredding, offering a safe and environmentally friendly solution for document disposal, accoridng to the release.

Cardboard recycling bins will also be available from the city.


Items that will not be accepted, as per the release, include:
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Plastic
  • Binders and binder clips
  • Hard drives, CDs, or floppy discs
  • Electronics
  • Metal objects
The specifics

To participate, residents must bring a state-issued ID and a current utility bill, according to the release.

Vehicles will enter the city hall parking lot from Laurel Lane and exit onto Walnut Avenue.
