The city of New Braunfels will hold a ceremony on Sept. 11 to honor the 2,977 individuals lost during the tragedy on Sept. 11, 2001, according to an Aug. 29 news release from the city.

The event will begin at 7:25 a.m., with the New Braunfels Fire Department and Police Department Honor Guard marching from the Central Fire Station on Hill Avenue to the Main Plaza, as per the release.

The ceremony will start at approximately 7:40 a.m., featuring a flag raising and lowering at 7:46 a.m. to mark the time when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Traffic around Main Plaza will close at 7:15 a.m. and reopen at 8:15 a.m., according to the release.

The event is open to the public, and attendees should meet near the flagpole and bandstand to participate in the ceremony, according to the release.
