The portables are expected to be used through the end of the 2025-26 school year, with a minimum six-month lease from service supplier Aries Building Systems. The district will reassess the need for the portables for up to a maximum of 12 additional months, the cost of which is not to exceed $250,000 of 2021 bond funds, said Paul McLarty, NBISD chief business and support services officer.
“Hopefully, we'll only have it for one semester, but we've got enough money in here if we have to go beyond that,” McLarty said. “We doubt that we'll need the full 250,000.”
