Some background

NBYC—a nonprofit organization—entered a 50-year lease agreement with New Braunfels ISD in 2021. The NBISD board of trustees approved the transference of the properties at 407 and 430 W. Mill St. to the nonprofit in April, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

Quote of note

Mayor Neal Linnartz said the facility will allow students to become better citizens in the community.

“This offers an opportunity for them to learn life skills, do their homework, get mentoring and stay off the streets,” Linnartz said.
