The National Weather Service in Austin and San Antonio issued a winter storm warning for Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. through Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.
According to the NWS website, the San Antonio area is expected to have around one inch of snow and sleet accumulation, beginning the evening of Jan. 20.
Due to these forecasts, local school districts have made the decision to close campuses and district offices.
Alongside school closures, afterschool programs will also be cancelled or rescheduled. Classes are expected to resume on Jan. 22, according to social media announcements from school districts.
