Terry Black’s Barbecue, an Austin-based barbecue restaurant, is getting ready for construction on its first location in New Braunfels, said Scott Wieland, senior vice president of development and construction for Black Family Hospitality.

The details

The space will be transformed into a new 7,860-square-foot area with an attached pit house and a two-story outdoor dining space, at an undisclosed cost. Construction is expected to begin mid-February. The restaurant is anticipated to open in August, Wieland said.

The building previously housed Los Cucos Mexican Cafe, which closed abruptly in April 2024, as previously reported by Community Impact.

Terry Black's Barbecue sells sliced brisket, beef ribs, pork ribs, sausage and more.
