A nationwide sporting goods chain has opened a new location along the I-35 corridor.

The overview

Academy Sports + Outdoors opened in New Braunfels at 159 I-35 S. on Nov. 16, according to a news release. The storefront is next to DD’s Discounts, in the Courtyard Plaza shopping center.

At just a little over 43,000-square-feet, the New Braunfels location is the store's ninth location in the San Antonio region, according to the store's locator. The retailer will bring about 60 jobs to the city, the release states.

Academy Sports + Outdoors sells a wide variety of sporting goods from baseball gloves to soccer cleats and running gear to golf apparel. The retailer also sells hunting and fishing gear.
