The vacation spot, previously known as Koozies Icehouse & Grill, is situated along the Guadalupe River at 8515 River Road in New Braunfels.

Husband and wife owners Joe and Amber Joplin said they took over the property this year and began working to rebrand and revamp the resort area.
Sorting out details
Amber Joplin said they first opened a general store called the Tan Turtle Trader around Memorial Day, which offers river tubing supplies, a boutique and various convenience goods like snacks and drinks.
The Joplins said that they opened the Tan Turtle Tavern in late June. Tan Turtle Tavern is an outdoor bar and grill featuring an open-air bar with outdoor seating. Tan Turtle Tavern also has a beach volleyball court, live music stage and a menu consisting of typical American fare.
Amber said the Grouchy Goose opened July 26 and gives customers seating right on the river.
“It’s more of a biergarten,” she said. “It could also lend itself more to events and private events.”
What’s next
Joe Joplin said he plans on continuing to expand on the property and hopes to open a refreshed RV park in the future.
“We’re looking forward to more improvements, changes and fresh new ideas,” he said.
