Since 1945, the New Braunfels Smokehouse has been a part of the New Braunfels community.

In a nutshell

Owner Hale Snyder said the business is celebrating its 80th anniversary in September, as its "busy season" begins. Snyder said New Braunfels Smokehouse looks to remain a consistent part of the city for years to come.

The New Braunfels Smokehouse has seen many changes since its inception, most recently, when its long-standing restaurant closed its doors in 2020. But Snyder said he wants to continue to make sure people can still get smoked meats, cheeses and assorted gourmet gifts for the foreseeable future.

What happens next?

As the smokehouse continues to adapt to modernity, Snyder said he wants to continue the “transition from the analog era,” which includes upgrading its inventory system which will improve warehouse management and reduce mistakes.
