Blue Agave Functional Medicine opened its second New Braunfels location, which is located at 651 N. Business I-35, Ste. 730, on June 23.

The full range, primary care clinic is locally owned by Brooke and Troy Green and Scott Knepper.

What they offer

Blue Agave Functional Medicine blends traditional Western medicine with a holistic approach. Brooke Green said they review blood work results so they see what type of care an individual may need.

"We're really trying to help keep people off of Statins, keep people out of the surgery room, keep people off of pills if we can because what a lot of people don't know is that you can actually heal your body through dietary and lifestyle changes," she said.

The clinic also offers IV therapy, inflammation testing and comprehensive physicals.

Blue Agave Functional Medicine also offers a WAVi brain scan which tests the health and function of a person's brain, which can help their providers identify dementia and Alzheimer's earlier. Green said their team has also been taking a lot of time and receiving a lot of training on women's health and women's hormones.

"We're trying to educate women here, and even men but mostly women, about premenopausal care and helping actually push out the timing that you'll actually start experiencing menopausal symptoms," she said. "So we're trying to help put the right building blocks in place that can actually help prevent you having to get those terrible hot flashes. If not prevent, limit the amount of horrible side effects that come with aging."

One more thing

Green said they are looking to expand into the Schertz and Cibolo area in the coming months.
