Locally owned by Haleigh Almquist, Hill Country Day School will serve children from 6 weeks to 4 years old. The 12,000-square-foot facility is slated to break ground in June and open in August 2026, Almquist said.
Hill Country Day School sits on a 5.5-acre property, and the school will use the property for outdoor learning by incorporating walking trails and a splash pad, she said.
The need
Almquist said she and her family live off Hwy. 306 and started the school because of a lack of schools in that area.
"We've been traveling 20-30 minutes to preschool for the last four years—I have three kids and so it just seemed like the right time with all of the new buildings and houses going in out here," Almquist told Community Impact.
