The Cake Bar & Coffee Co. is owned by Debbie De La Cruz and her daughters, Katarina and Kasandra who also own and operate The Sweet Spot. The Sweet Spot began as a dessert food truck that operated out of New Braunfels in 2022 before moving into its first brick-and-mortar location in San Marcos in 2023. The Cake Bar & Coffee Co. will be located in the former Le Citron European Café & Bistro building at 173 S. Seguin Ave. Le Citron European Café & Bistro closed in February.
On the menu
The Cake Bar & Coffee Co. will offer new menu items like cookie cake, cheesecake, brownie cake, mini pancakes and ice cream. The business will also offer espresso, chai tea, matcha, infused Red Bulls and more. Customers will be able to customize their own slice of cake, according to a Facebook post.
