The gym was founded by James and Robin Jeffers in 1990. Following the unexpected death of James in 2020, brother and sister-in law Austin Jeffers and Kristin Jeffers took ownership of J&R Gymnastics in January 2023, Kristin said.

J&R Gymnastics opened its doors to the New Braunfels community on June 1, 1990, and in 1992 J&R Gymnastics opened its second location in Seguin.
The gym offers gymnastics, cheer, dance, tumbling, Aerial Silk and ninja classes for children from 6 months up to 18 years old. J&R Gymnastics also offers homeschool P.E.

The gym recently revamped its preschool program for children ages 4 years old and under, Kristin said.
"We have transitioned that program to creating more success-based milestones for littles of that age. All of those lesson plans are created with intentionality for neurological development in addition to their physical developmental milestones at that age as well," she said.
