For the first time, the Gruene Ice Rink has opened in New Braunfels, offering skating, hot cocoa, cookies and more.

The 100-by-40-foot rink is located behind The Pomegranate women's clothing store in Gruene and will be open daily through Jan. 5.

Rental skates range from small child sizes up to men’s 15, and the price starts at $18, according to its website.
