The Weighted Plate, a local bar which was previously located on the deck of Top Teer Strength, is set to relocate in New Braunfels.

The details

Owner Cody Teer, who originally started Top Teer Strength as a gym three years ago, located at 1260 FM 1863, New Braunfels, is expanding his business concept into a multifaceted venue.

The new location—a historic stagecoach house from the 1800s—will feature a coffee shop by day and a cocktail bar with live music by night, Teer said.

"We found this historic stagecoach house and decided to relocate," Teer said. "It’s been a way to both preserve the history and expand our concept into something new and exciting.”

The venue’s design will reflect different historical periods, with decor representing the 1800s, early 1900s, midcentury and modern times, Teer said.

About the Owner

Teer’s vision for The Weighted Plate stemmed from the unexpected growth of his original gym’s social space, which evolved into a popular bar and event venue.

“We started with a small deck and ended up creating something much bigger,” Teer said.

His aim for The Weighted Plate is to provide a relaxed, historically immersive environment where patrons can enjoy coffee, cocktails and dining experiences, Teer said.
