A closer look
Brandee Dickinson, owner of the ARTitude Cottage, has over 20 years of experience in repurposing and painting. Dickinson opened the shop to provide a space for local artists to showcase their work.
"Not all [artists] fit into an art gallery,” Dickinson said. “We want more than a coffee shop wall or a vendor mall setting. We need a space to show off our work."
The vision of the shop, Dickinson said, is to be a community hub where artists can display their work in a home-like setting, blending vintage and antique items with new artwork.
“I want the artists to be able to have their freedom,” Dickinson said. "I try to give [the artists] as much space as they need."
Dickinson encourages customers to support local talent as the shop offers a range of mediums, from silversmithing and woodworking to mosaics and traditional paintings.
