Several segments of roadway around the I-10/Loop 1604 interchange in north San Antonio will be closed nightly July 19-22 as part of ongoing Loop 1604 expansion work and I-10 improvements.

The gist

The following portions of roadway will be closed 9 p.m.-5 a.m. July 19-22:

• I-10 eastbound and westbound main lanes and frontage roads at the Loop 1604 interchange
• Loop 1604 eastbound exit ramp to I-10 eastbound
• All four cloverleaf ramps

Texas Department of Transportation officials said these closures will allow work crews to continue bridge construction and bent cap placement as part of the overhaul of the I-10/Loop 1604 interchange overhaul.

Additionally, project contractors will oversee a closure of the Blanco Road/Loop 1604 intersection 9 p.m. July 19 until 6 a.m. July 20. Specifically, workers will close both the westbound and eastbound Loop 1604 main lanes from the Blanco Road exit ramp to the Blanco Road entrance ramp. The southbound Blanco Road lanes at Loop 1604 will be closed, too.

Other intermittent lane closures are expected along Loop 1604 as part of ongoing expansion work, TxDOT officials said.
