DreamWeek San Antonio has begun, offering two weeks of dozens of events devoted to civic engagement and cultural diversity.

The background

An organization called DreamVoice, composed of local writers, entrepreneurs, artists, authors and designers, oversees the development of programming designed to address various social issues, such as education and poverty, according to a news release.

DreamWeek/DreamVoice representatives said they are inspired by the words and actions of the late civic rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., and as such, DreamWeek events take place citywide each January, the month of King’s birthday.
