Hollywood Park City Council on Nov. 15 approved using no more than $65,000 in available American Rescue Plan Act money to pay the balance of the city’s fire station bay extension project.
Fire Chief John Butrico told the council that efforts to extend the rear end of the fire station bay more than 20 feet began in the middle of last spring and were completed by fall.
The council last April awarded a $299,000 contract to All Pro Construction for the project following a request for proposals.
City officials said the fire station bay extension will accommodate a custom-designed 44-foot-long ladder truck that Wisconsin company Pierce Manufacturing is nearly finished building for the fire department.
