On Feb. 6, nightly lane closures on FM 3351 began from Fair Oaks Parkway to Keeneland Drive.

The closures are part of the FM 3351 corridor project, which aims to expand the roadway from I-10 to SH 46.

About the project

According to TxDOT, the first phase of the project began in 2024 with the construction of the bridge at Cibolo Creek.

From 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Feb. 9, the section of road from Fair Oaks Parkway to Keeneland Drive will be reduced to one-lane, two-way traffic implemented by traffic control.

Moving forward

Proposed projects along FM 3351 include the construction of the roadway from I-10 to Desperado Way, which will expand the section of road to a four-to-six-lane roadway with a 10-foot shared-use path, and from Desperado Way to SH 46, which does not have a determined number of travel lanes, according to TxDOT.
