Boerne City Council accepted the resignation of Quinten Scott on July 22, following his announcement July 8.

What’s happening

Since there are fewer than 12 months left in Scott’s term, City Council will appoint a new member to fill the vacancy, per the city charter.

Applications are expected to open from July 28 to Aug. 15. Candidates will be interviewed by city council in executive session, and a new council member is planned to be sworn in at the Sept. 9 meeting.

During the process, Scott can continue to serve until a new council member is sworn in.

How we got here

Scott on July 8 announced his resignation from City Council. Scott said his reason for leaving was due to moving to a new home outside of city limits, which would require resignation to be in line with the city charter.

Scott was first elected in May 2019 during a special election, and most recently elected in May 2024.
