County Judge Shane Stolarczyk told the Commissioners Court on July 22 that state resources have requested the burn ban stay on while mobilizing efforts.
“Until the state and feds have completed their secondary search of Kendall County, we are asking to keep the burn ban in place,” Stolarczyk said.
The details
Fire Marshal Brady Constantine said the county has been approved for state funding for cleanup along the river.
“The state has approved Kendall County for debris management,” Constantine said.
Stolarczyk said the funding will help the county navigate costs related to flooding damage.
“Footing the bill on cleanup is a big win for the county, because sometimes those can bankrupt a county,” Stolaryk said.
While the burn ban is currently in place for the entire county, Constantine said he will see if the ban can be limited to the areas along the river.
The county judge and fire marshal said additional details will be shared with the community as more information is released from the state.
