The specifics
The expanded portion of the development would contain room for six single-family homes on approximately 1.5 acres each, according to Charlie Hill, president and chief operating officer of DH Investments, developer of Cordillera Ranch.
Cordillera Ranch is a 9,100 acre, private, resort-style community located off of Hwy. 46 near Bergheim, according to their website.
Hill said that expansion should be completed “this summer” during Tuesday’s meeting.
“It’s going slow, but we’re finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
The area under expansion exists entirely on the community’s allocated property and is fronted by existing private roads, according to Hill.
The cost
The county would oversee street, water and sewer construction to make sure they're up to code, according to Staff Engineer Clay Forister.
Commissioners unanimously approved a financial guarantee of $473,140.06 to assure that street and drainage improvements met these guidelines.
Another guarantee of $59,424.50 was approved for additional water and sewer improvements.
