Das Festival of Kendall is poised to return on Father's Day weekend, offering three days of community events and activities.

Held June 13-15, the event honors the regions German roots and helps raise funds for local charities, including:What’s happening?

Activities kick off on June 13, featuring live music and beer. A steinholding competition will be held throughout the event, with the first contest the evening of June 13.

Additional activities throughout the week include polka‑style music, wheelbarrow and watermelon‑eating contests, a parade and Dachshund races.

Community members interested in participating in the parade or other activities can register on the organization's website. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on June 14.


Volunteers are also needed. Sign-ups are available on the website.

Kendall County commissioners June 10 signed a proclamation for the event, highlighting the impact of the inaugural event in 2024.

According to the proclamation, the event last year brought in more than $14,000 for local nonprofits and charities.
