Why are you running for the school board?
I’ve been on the board for nearly four years and am currently the board president. Our family has lived in Boerne for coming up on 10 years. I love Boerne values and want to ensure that Boerne remains Boerne. There’s no place like it.
What are the biggest challenges Boerne ISD is facing?
Rapid growth and aging facilities. We also need more funding to adequately pay our staff as we are in the bottom 0.1% in terms of funding on a per student basis compared to all the other school districts in the state of Texas.
How do you plan on addressing those challenges?
I have been honored to go to Austin with many of our community members to lobby the state legislature for more funding. I also support fiscal responsibility to ensure our tax rate remains low and the vast majority of our funding goes to our educators' paychecks.
What is something you would like Boerne ISD residents to know about you?
I’ve worked hard to make sure all 11,100 students in BISD get a world class education, and if re-elected will continue to advocate for our students, parents, and exceptional educators. I’m proud to uphold small-town, conservative values, and champion parental rights.

Why are you running for the school board?
To serve our great community with the school board we deserve. To also offer my experience as a veteran of the world's largest education and training institution in the world, the Air Education and Training Command. I also offer a perspective of 17 years in the classroom in public education.
What are the biggest challenges Boerne ISD is facing?
The perception of lost funding due to "School Choice" measures taken in Austin will impede our ability to educate our students.
How do you plan on addressing those challenges?
"School Choice" is not a challenge but an opportunity for Boerne ISD. When parents are given a choice, they will see an award winning district that offers brilliant extra-curricular opportunities that other educational options may not offer. Make Boerne ISD the right choice.
