Report: Boerne ISD sees higher test averages compared to region, state

Year over year, Boerne ISD continues to show strong test scores and graduation rates throughout the district. With an enrollment of 10,910 students, the district population proves to be balanced, with all grade levels, excluding early childhood and pre-K, having an enrollment of about 700-950 students. Across all State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, tests, students in the district exceed compared to Region 20 and state averages.

Career and Technical Education continues to grow at Boerne ISD

College and career readiness is a priority for Boerne ISD staff and the board of trustees. During the March 24 meeting, Heather Willis, director of Career and Technical Education, shared an update on the program for the school year. Willis said the program continues to grow, and the goal is to have all BISD students engaged in innovative learning experiences to build preparedness for college, career and/or the military.


Boerne ISD Special Education Program provides life skills for students

Special education is a growing department at Boerne ISD and across other Texas school districts, Annie Seiter, director of Special Education said. Trustee Rich Sena pointed out that the special education program has had a nearly 50% growth in students since 2021-22, while the total number of students in the district has increased around 10% during the same time frame. Between the 2021-22 and 2024-25 school years, the number of special education students increased from 1,356 to 2,037.

Boerne ISD P-Tech program gives students college credit for cybersecurity, health science

Boerne ISD trustees on April 21 reviewed the accomplishments of the Pathways in Technology Early College High School, or P-Tech program. At BISD, P-Tech covers two education areas, including cybersecurity and health science. These programs partner with local colleges to provide students opportunities to earn college credits while attending high school.
