City officials approved updates to two projects on Round Rock's west side in July.

Updates to contracts for road projects underway on Chisholm Trail South and Wyoming Springs Drive included additional funding for further utility relocations as well as driver safety enhancement, Public Works Director Michael Thane said.
Council approved both changes July 9.
The details
Chisholm Trail South improvements
Project: The city is reconstructing Chisholm Trail Road from Sam Bass Road to RM 620, with drainage, pedestrian and lighting improvements.
Update: The project was updated to include a pedestrian crossing near the Round Rock landmark, facilitating the crossing of Brushy Creek by foot.
Council approved a supplemental contract with contractor Friese & Nichols for $221,103, funded by Type B sales tax revenue, which is also known as the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corp.
Project: The project includes a new four-lane divided roadway with shared-use paths, extending over Brushy Creek from Creek Bend Boulevard to Old Settlers Boulevard.
Update: Driver safety improvements were added at Hairy Man Road crossing; water taps for irrigation. An additional 135 days were added to the construction calendar to account for delays.
Council approved a $94,192 change order for its contract with Capital Excavation Co., funded by Type B sales tax revenue, which is also known as the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corp.
