Expansion of chemical research, manufacturing company in Round Rock to bring jobs

In celebration of 40 years of operation in Central Texas, Exfluor—a chemical research and manufacturing company—broke ground April 1 on a 33,000-square-foot expansion to its headquarters located in Round Rock.

The impact

“This expansion not only signifies the company’s commitment to advancing the chemical industry and the critical compounds they manufacture, but also its dedication to creating more job opportunities and contributing to the local economy,” the company said in a news release.

Exfluor uses fluorine gas to transform hydrocarbons into fluorocarbons, while preserving the original carbon-carbon structure of the molecule, according to the company. This process yields a range of products used in a variety of ways, from commonplace consumer goods such as televisions to advanced technologies used in space exploration.

With over 25 U.S. patents, the company said it will continue its unique method to develop new kinds of products tailored to meet the needs of the Exfluor customers, large or small.
