The Texas Department of Transportation opened a public hearing March 16 and released new details about proposed improvements to US 75.
The proposed project would convert US 75’s existing high-occupancy vehicle lanes into peak-hour technology lanes between I-635 in Dallas County and SH 121. Construction on the $57 million project could start by late 2023 or early 2024, according to the department’s virtual hearing presentation.
Construction will replace the double white stripes and pylons with broken white stripes to allow for continuous entrance and exit between the technology lanes and general-purpose lanes. The center barrier will also be reconstructed, and overhead signs and high-mast lighting will be added as well.
