Residents seeking the opportunity to provide direct feedback on the proposed Dallas Area Rapid Transit Silver Line project will be able to do so at a meeting at 6:30 p.m. July 26 at The University of Texas at Dallas’ Davidson Auditorium—800 W. Campbell Road.
The background
DART is planning a $1.8 billion commuter train called the Silver Line that will connect cities such as Richardson and Plano along a 26-mile track to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Service for the train is scheduled to begin as early as late 2025, according to information provided by DART officials.
In Richardson, construction on two stations planned at The University of Texas at Dallas and CityLine as well as a bridge across US 75 remains ongoing. In addition to DART, representatives from the project contractor, Archer Western Herzog, will be in attendance to provide updates on the construction.
