Early voting results show Democratic incumbent Andy Sommerman leading the race for Dallas County Commissioners Court District 2.
District 2 covers the northern part of Dallas County, including areas of Richardson, Garland, Addison and Dallas.
Sommerman has received 115,998 votes, or 61.6%, of the early vote. Republican challenger Barry Wernick has received 72,158 votes, or 38.4%.
Sommerman has held the Dallas County commissioner position since 2023.
More than 42% of Dallas County’s over 1.49 million registered voters cast their ballots in early and mail-in voting, as of Nov. 2.
Over 607,000 voters cast their ballots in Dallas County during early voting, according to initial totals from the county. As of Oct. 30, Dallas County had also received 20,050 mail-in ballots.
