'Today's numbers are encouraging': Dallas County reports 10% drop in number of new cases since April 21

Dallas County confirmed 81 additional positive cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday.

This brings the countywide case total to 2,683. Forty-seven of those patients are from the Dallas County portion of Richardson, according to county data current as of April 21.

One additional death is also being reported, an April 22 press release stated. So far, 65 people have died from COVID-19 in Dallas County.

Today’s case count is 10% lower than yesterday’s, County Judge Clay Jenkins said in a release.

“While we mourn the passing of our 65th Dallas County resident who has died from COVID-19, today’s numbers are encouraging. ... Each day thus far this week, the numbers have been lower than the average daily new cases reported last week,” he said.
