Collin County
1. Marilee Road improvements
Project: The project consists of reclamation of the existing asphalt roadway on Marilee Road from Preston Road to Dallas Parkway in Celina. This project will be shared with the city of Gunter, Grayson County, Collin County, city of Celina and the adjacent subdivision developers.
Update: The project is in the design phase and waiting on funding to determine a timeline for bidding.
2. Preston Road and Towne Square Drive
Project: The city plans to extend the southbound left-turn lane for the Preston Road and Town Square Drive intersection in Plano to reduce the likelihood of backups into the through lane. Other intersection improvements from this project include construction at Legacy Drive and SH 121, SH 121 and JP Morgan Driveway, Corporate Drive and Legacy Drive, and Corporate Drive and Tennyson Parkway.
Update: Plano City Council approved a $165,679 contract increase with XIT Paving and Construction Inc. for the Preston Road and Town Square Drive intersection improvements at the May 11 meeting.
3. Industrial Boulevard utility improvements
Project: The planned reconstruction of existing water and sanitary sewer lines will take place along Industrial Boulevard between SH 5 and Airport Drive in McKinney.
Update: Design work is 90% complete, and the project is expected to go to bid later this year.
Dallas County
Project: The project will improve sidewalks, bike lanes, crosswalks, lighting and bus stops along Synergy Park Boulevard between Waterview Parkway and Floyd Road. Work also includes constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of Synergy and Floyd, adding sidewalks along Waterview and upgrading traffic signals at the intersection of Synergy and Rutford Avenue.
Update: Richardson City Council approved funding for the project at the May 11 meeting.
Tarrant County
Project: Intermodal Parkway will be transformed into a four-lane road with sidewalks, street lighting, storm drainage and traffic signals.
Update: An additional $213,250 in funding was added to the project for exploratory excavation needed to locate existing utilities, replacing subgrade lime stabilization and related paving work.
