See who is running for Celina City Council, Celina ISD board this May

The filing period closed for the May general election.

The details

Residents will see Celina City Council Place 4 and 5 on the ballot along with the race for Mayor.

The races for Place 4 and 5 do not include incumbents making way for two newcomers on the council.

For the mayor race candidates include:

• Ryan Tubbs, incumbent
• Erica Cornelius
• Eric Becker

Candidates for Place 4 include:

• Katie Dunn
• Shea Scott

Incumbent Wendie Wigginton filed for reelection but announced on social media Feb. 13 that she will withdraw from the race.

Place 5 candidates are:

• Brent Baty
• Mathew Eberius
• Shane Lambert

Gentry Pace filed for a place on the ballot but withdrew his application, according to the city's website.

Celina ISD has two seats up for election on the board of trustees including Place 3 and 4.

Place 3 candidates include:

• Vicky Hogue
• Cameron Riggs

Incumbent Jeff Gravley had filed to run for his Place 3 seat but later withdrew his candidacy, according to CISD officials.

Place 4 candidates include:

• Jennifer Driver, incumbent
• Erin Norris
• David Hogue

Candidate who withdraw before Feb. 20 will not appear on the May ballot.

Looking ahead

Election day is May 2 with early voting happening April 20-28.

The last day to register to vote is April 2.
