1. Kitchen Master serves Asian fusion cuisine in Southlake
A new Asian fusion restaurant, Kitchen Master, has opened in Southlake.
The menu focuses on Chinese dishes, but incorporates Japanese and Thai influences, restaurant staff said. Customers can order dishes including teriyaki chicken, black pepper steak and crab rangoon.
Restaurant staff said the Southlake location also features house soup dumplings, sushi, including nigiri, and sashimi.
Kitchen Master takes over a space formerly occupied by Mughlai Fine Indian Restaurant, which closed in April 2024.
2. 1418 Coffee serves handcrafted drinks in downtown Celina
1418 Coffee is open near downtown Celina with soft opening hours, according to the business’s social media.
The locally owned coffee chain offers handcrafted drinks, housemade cold brew and pastries made at its off-site bakery in Prosper.
During the soft opening, the Celina Station location will be open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on the weekend, per social media.
1418 Coffee also has cafes in Prosper and Plano, and locations in Richardson and Mansfield are coming soon, according to the business’s website.
3. Kimiya Japanese Cuisine offers sushi, more in Roanoke
Kimiya Japanese Cuisine is open in Roanoke.
The restaurant offers sushi, fresh sashimi, ramen, classic tempura, teriyaki and chef-inspired Japanese dishes, according to its website. Popular menu items are chicken fried rice, hibachi steak and chicken, pan-fried pork dumplings, California roll, chicken teriyaki and edamame, according to its online ordering platform.
The original projected completion date for the build-out of the restaurant was mid-September 2025, according to previous reporting.
The Japanese restaurant is located where On The Border used to be off SH 114, which closed at the end of 2024, according to previous reporting.

4. Houston-based Wingbay to open location on Plano, Richardson border
Houston-based chicken wing chain Wingbay is opening a location on Renner Road in Plano, across the street from Methodist Richardson Medical Center.
The restaurant serves classic or boneless wings with a variety of sauces. Also featured on the menu are chicken tenders, fries and Cajun fried corn.
The restaurant currently has seven locations in the Houston area, and Wingbay Head of Franchising Development Sage Delsol said expanding into Dallas-Fort Worth is the “natural next step.” He added that the company is looking at several other franchise opportunities “across the metroplex.”
5. Slap Burger coming soon to Richardson
Slap Burger is set to open soon in Richardson’s Arabian Village, according to a social media announcement.
Slap Burger serves handcrafted smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, as well as specialty lemonades and milkshakes, per its website. The restaurant started in New Jersey and currently has additional locations in New York and Florida.
