Collin County-based nonprofit organization The Movie Institute is set to open a new studio in Plano, according to founder Keith Duncan.
The Movie Institute is moving into the new space on June 1, and Duncan expects the studio to be up and running in late fall. The organization will be moving to a 6,500-square-foot space in the Shops at Willow Bend, 6121 W. Park Blvd., Ste. B214.
The Movie Institute, which began in 2000, hosts a summer camp, workshops, an after-school program and more programming that teaches children about filmmaking and film acting. Training topics at the new location will include moviemaking; recording arts; animation; video production; stunts; and science, technology, engineering, arts and math training in a motion media framework.
The Willow Bend Studio will feature two production stages, two classrooms, a green room, rooms for video blogging, audio recording, makeup, gear and more.
