A new commercial and residential development will move forward in Hutto following City Council’s vote to annex and rezone the land Sept. 5. The Meadow Brook planned unit development will sit on about 88 acres and include a mix of household types, open park space and commercial use, according to city documents.
The gist
The city originally held a public hearing for the project in December 2023. Following a second public hearing, Hutto City Council unanimously approved an ordinance to annex and rezone the development site that will become Meadow Brook.
Located just north of FM 1660 South, Developer Columnar plans to use 67.8 acres for single-family residential use and one acre for commercial use. The remaining land will be dedicated to open space and rights of way.
