The Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce will build a permanent headquarters in downtown Hutto, according to an Aug. 7 news release.
This comes as the Hutto Economic Development Corporation acquired the Chamber’s longtime building on East Street, per the release, which was issued by both organizations.
Diving in deeper
The HEDC’s acquisition of the East Street building is part of its broader effort to support revitalization in Old Town.
“We truly appreciate the Chamber's partnership on this project,” Caitlin Morales, Hutto Economic Development Corporation vice chair, said in the press release. “Revitalizing Old Town works best when we're moving in the same direction, and this project is a good example of that.”
The acquisition also allows the Chamber to move forward with plans for a new headquarters. The new building will provide office space, meeting facilities, and room for networking, economic development and community activities.
"This project reflects our shared commitment to supporting local businesses, strengthening our downtown and creating a space that will serve our members and the community for generations to come," Tim Jordan, president of the Hutto Area Chamber of Commerce, said in the press release.
