New single-day COVID-19 cases in Brazoria County continue to trend down through end of November, data shows

Brazoria County continues to trend down in average new COVID-19 cases reported throughout November. The county reported 44 new single-day COVID-19 cases Dec. 1, according to the Brazoria County Health Department page.

Of the 44 cases reported on Dec. 1, one of them was over two weeks old, according to Brazoria County’s Twitter account. In addition, the county reported one new COVID-19-related death Dec. 1.

Between Nov. 16 and Dec. 1, Brazoria County is averaging 33.44 new COVID-19 cases each day, which is a decrease from the average between Nov. 1 and Nov. 15 of 44.2 new COVID-19 cases each day, according to data from the BCHD dashboard.

As of Dec. 1, there are 800 active cases of COVID-19 in Brazoria County, which is a decrease of 115 active cases from Nov. 15.

In total since the county began tracking, there have been 59,553 COVID-19 cases reported, which is an increase of 535 since Nov. 15. There have also been 57,867 recoveries, which is an increase of 705 since Nov. 15. Additionally, 705 deaths have been reported, which is an increase of 12 since Nov. 15, according to dashboard data.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 57.81% of Brazoria County’s population age 5 and older is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, which is an increase of 0.84%—or about 3,125 people—from Nov. 15, based on Brazoria County’s population from 2020 U.S. Census Bureau data.
