Pearland will have a special election for City Council Position 2 on Nov. 5, as Council Member Derrick Reed will be vacating his seat. Reed has announced that he will be running for Congress in Texas District 22. Running for the vacant Pearland City Council seat are Tony Carbone and Jai Daggett.
