Pete Olson announces he will not seek another term in office

U.S. District 22 Rep. Pete Olson announced in a press release July 25 that he will not be seeking re-election in 2020.

“For six terms, the voters of our district have placed their faith in me to represent their concerns in the House of Representatives. The time I have spent working with them and for them has been a tremendous blessing,” Olson said in the release.

Olson, a Republican, was first elected to the position in 2008.

Pearland City Council Member Derrick Reed, as well as Sri Kulkarni and Nyanza Moore, have announced they are running in the Democratic primary for the seat.
