Incumbent Cassandra Tigner, the Republican candidate, will face Democratic candidate Grandison Porter for Brazoria County district clerk.
The office of Brazoria County district clerk serves as the registrar, recorder and custodian of all legal documents related to court proceedings in Brazoria County.

Why are you running for this position?
I’m currently the incumbent for this position. I’m seeking re-election for Brazoria County District Clerk's Office. My staff and myself have spent the last three years restoring integrity to the office, bringing transparency to our jury system and utilizing existing technology for the office.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
My top priority will be continuing the progress we have made throughout my office. We have changed morale completely, cross trained 100% of my staff in different departments within, and brought in a new department: Passports to the citizens of Brazoria County for easier convenience.
What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?
As it pertains to my office, they have recently added a one hour course in regards to jury to make sure we are running within our law’s guidelines.

Why are you running for this position?
I am running to bring integrity, accountability, efficiency and service-centered leadership to the District Clerk’s Office. After decades of military, educational, ministerial and community service, I believe public trust must be earned. I want every resident to receive professional, respectful, accessible service regardless of background, neighborhood or political affiliation.
What would your top priorities be if elected?
My priorities are protecting the integrity of court records, improving customer service, increasing accessibility and transparency, and maximizing existing technology and resources. I will also invest in employee development and efficient processes while respecting taxpayer dollars. The goal is simple: dependable service that works for every Brazoria County resident.
What projects are most important for the legislature to focus on for the future of Texas?
Although the District Clerk does not set legislative policy, Texas’ growth requires continued attention to infrastructure, public education, public safety, water and responsible technology investment. As District Clerk, my responsibility will be ensuring our office is prepared for that growth while protecting records, supporting the courts, and serving residents efficiently.
