Fernando Hinojosa and incumbent Gabe Garza have won for Alvin ISD's board of trustees Position 6 and 7, unofficial results show.
Hinojosa won against Faynetta Burrle with 3,474 votes, or 53.21%, according to unofficial results from Brazoria County.
Garza received 3,004 votes, or 46.12% and T'Liza Kiel received 2,504 votes, or 38.44%, while Cortney Morris received 1,004 votes, or 15.44%.
Results remain unofficial until canvassed at a later date. Officials with AISD confirmed only a plurality is needed to win the race, meaning the top vote-getter will win the seat without needing a runoff race if they fail to obtain a majority of votes.
