Festivals, concerts and a group hike are on the calendar from this August to September. Check out these 13 events happening in Northwest Austin and the surrounding area.
PBR Gambler Days
Professional Bull Riders will bring the Austin Gamblers back to Moody Center. The teams of bull riders will compete in a three-day tournament alongside concerts and a western lifestyle expo.
Austin Pride Parade & Festival
The all-day celebration will feature live music and entertainment, local vendors, a parade and more. The parade typically takes place on Congress Avenue, ending in the Warehouse District.
Maria Bamford at Cap City Comedy Club
Bamford has multiple standup specials and stars in the Netflix comedy “Lady Dynamite.” She’ll perform four shows at Cap City Comedy.

UNDERTALE: The Determination Symphony
The concert features music from the indie video game Undertale, performed live by a 25-piece orchestra. Gameplay footage will also be displayed on a screen above the stage at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
The University of Texas football game
The University of Texas will kick off its 2026 football season at home against Texas State University. This will be the Longhorns’ second season playing in the Southeastern Conference.
The Front Festival
The festival highlights independent music, film and art, with a focus on women and LGBTQ+ artists. The event begins and ends with swim nights at The LINE Austin, while the music night will take place at Swan Dive and the film night at The Contemporary Austin.
Hike Walnut Creek
Area residents are invited to take a walk at Walnut Creek Park with fellow hikers. The group will take a 3-mile hike at a social pace, and dogs are also welcome to join.
Oita Japan Summer Festival
The event celebrating Japanese culture features authentic food and drinks, live performances, cultural demonstrations and more. Guests of all ages can experience the traditions and contemporary culture of Japan.

BrisketU
Backyard Pitmaster’s BrisketU class, which will be held at Celis Brewery, is designed to teach meat lovers how to work a barbecue pit and smoke brisket from start to finish. Participants will learn how to choose the right type of brisket, how to trim the meat, how to manage a fire and more.
ATX ROX
ATX ROX, or Austin Rocks, is an annual west coast swing weekend convention, featuring social dancing, workshops and competitions sanctioned by the World Swing Dance Council. The convention will take place at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin.
Austin Zoo Revue
The annual gala is the Austin Zoo’s largest fundraiser. The event will have food catered by Gourmet Gals Catering & Events, a signature cocktail by Dripping Springs Distilling, a silent auction and a live auction.

“Weird Al” Yankovic
“Weird Al” Yankovic will bring his Bigger & Weirder tour to the Moody Center, with special guest Puddles Pity Party. The five-time Grammy Award winner is known for his parodies of the biggest songs of the last four decades.
World Music Night
The North Austin School of Music will host an evening of Azerbaijani and Brazilian music with award-winning musicians, featuring Paula Maya. Maya, a pianist, composer, arranger and band leader, won two Global Music Awards Silver Medals in 2026.
